2024
SATURDAY 4TH MAY 2024, held in Kidston Hall, High Street, Kilmacolm 10.00 – 12.00noon.
A new venue for the Coffee Morning and Plant Sale, as it was not possible to hire the Community Centre. A challenge for the committee, but full tables for delicious cakes and coffee/tea, with a superb Raffle donated by members was held in the main hall. Top quality plants from Parklea Branching Out nurseries filled the upper hall. We were delighted to welcome Alice and Julie from Inverclyde Community Food Network who took time to explain the new project ‘Let’s Grow Inverclyde Together’ scheme which involves community gardening, food sharing, cooking classes, working towards Zero Waste for our community.
2023
Early date – due to the coronation of King Charles – the Coffee Morning was held on 29th April 2023 in the New Community Centre, Kilmacolm 10.00 – 12.00 noon. A sparkling celebration pre-coronation, with refreshments, top quality plants from Parklea Nurseries, and a raffle prize table packed with donations from the committee and members. Mrs Lorraine Wilson made an amazing coronaton decorated victoria sponge cake filled with strawberries and cream which was given as a special raffle (Thank you). A special occasion, achieved through support of loyal members, visitors, and especially the KHS committee with grateful thanks to the staff of Kilmacolm Community Centre. Funds raised will be used to support the Kilmacolm Flower Show on 2nd September 2023 when we look forward to seeing the hall filled with members’ exhibits – flowers, vegetables, pot plants and hanging baskets, floral art, children’s classes, homebaking treats. Come as an exhibitor, come as a vistor to admire the Show. Thank you for your continued support of the activities of Kilmacolm Horticultural Society.
